Edward Sanchez is a multi-faceted individual, but Houston residents know him best for his Makeup Artistry skills and his fundraising efforts he conducts for the community. Edward Sanchez began his career in make-up at Neiman Marcus and was transitioned into the salon and spa world by famed hair designer José Eber. He currently is partnered with Urban Retreat Salons in River Oaks. Originally from McAllen, Texas, Edward moved to Houston 18 years ago to help his mother fight and beat cancer. He learned as a child that having manners and education will go a long way and giving back and helping others will go even further. This belief system is exactly why this fabulous make-up artist is who he is. Did I mention last year Edward’s birthday was declared “Edward Sanchez Day” by the Mayor of Houston for his selfless work raising funds and awareness for various charitable organizations in Houston.Growing up with 8 aunts, he quickly learned the purpose of concealer, blush, and foundation. By the age of 5, Edward could tell you the different features of every mascara-waterproof, lengthening, or thickening. However, Edward’s background is still being put to use because he’s currently developing his own make-up line and has just created a silk adhesive eyelash design.Edward has always wanted to help people and make them feel and look beautiful. He likes to give his clients energy and power to make them feel empowered. He clients range from brides and birthday girls to debutantes and newscasters. Edward has also done make-up for Betty. White, George Clooney, Janet Jackson, Lee & Faith Majors, Diane Lokey Farb, Carolyn Farb, Queen Noor of Jordan, and Joan Rivers.Recently, you can find him giving makeup advice on “Mirror Mirror”, a nationally syndicated beauty show on ABC. He has also appeared on TLC’s, “A Makeover Story”; “Ambush Makeover”, “The Dr. Phil Show”, and locally on channel 2 and 11 for special reports.
