Madonna-mania is about to hit full swirl. Again.
The world’s most famous pop star is releasing Hard Candy — her 11th and final studio album for longtime label Warner Bros. — Tuesday. It’s a nonstop dance party, with special guests Justin Timberlake, Timbaland and the Neptunes.
I’ve given the album a full listen, and early standouts include Give It 2 Me, which boasts an aggressive club groove; the slinky Candy Shop, the electro-snap of Heartbeat, the atmospheric Voices and the disco-fied She’s Not Me, which could be a challenge of sorts to today’s pop tarts. (“She’s not me/She doesn’t have my name/She’ll never have what I have/It won’t be the same.”)
Look for my full review in Tuesday’s paper.
Local fans can get an early listen during Saturday’s fourth annual Madonnarama at South Beach nightclub. The “music-and-video tribute” features Lady M hits, remixes, performances and impersonators all night long.
The event regularly attracts more than 1,500 people — and is a nonstop pop-diva party.
