Family ties

So last weekend I went to my Great Aunt Raquel’s funeral in Corpus. She was my grandmother’s only sister and it was so sad to see my gma so broken up. I can’t imagine losing somebody so close….sisterly love is so strong…I think about my cousin Yvette as my sister…she and I are one month apart and have been close all our lives….I can’t imagine losing her…she is my heart. They said some things at the funeral that really hit home…my Great Grandfather was a pentecostal preacher and was a strong believer and the preacher at the funeral said that his legacy will be w/in us forever….it was very deep b/c I do believe that he definitely paid his dues for all of us. I am truly blessed.

I have such a close and wonderful family….

The other highlight of the weekend was a definite tribute to how miracles work…my grandparents have been hard of hearing for years now…and Yvette and I happened to go to Wal-mart right before leaving Corpus…we walked down an isle and I saw these hearing amplifiers that I had seen on tv but couldn’t find the website to order them. What are the chances? My grandparents were so eccstatic…they could actually hear each other…it was so amazing….

I also admire something else that happened over the weekend…my mom’s mother told me to take care of my dad’s mom b/c she is very frail…true example of unselfish love….

My grandparents are the best role models ever and I’m so greatful to be a part of them.
